Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Position Purpose

Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Manager, the Licensed Clinical Social Worker will provide assessments and psychotherapy for clients who are in need of mental health services and have been referred by behavioral health clinicians, primary care providers, case managers and other DAP Health (DAP) programs for individual, couples, or group psychotherapy.

Reports to:  Behavioral Health Manager

Essential Functions

  • Provide comprehensive mental health assessments, including DSM-V diagnoses and treatment recommendations;
  • Develop a treatment plan in collaboration with the client, including short and long-term treatment goals while monitoring their progress;
  • Provide individual, couples, and/or group therapy as needed to clients with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders;
  • Complete all documentation required by DAP, client's insurance (if applicable), in a timely manner;
  • When appropriate, refer clients for psychiatric evaluation, substance abuse evaluation and intensive out-patient programs, etc.;
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Experience and skill in utilizing various forms of psychotherapy, including cognitive/behavioral, interpersonal, dialectical behavioral, etc.;
  • Experience using an Electronic Health Record. 
  • Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders;
  • Two years of experience working in a clinical setting as a psychotherapist.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Current Medicare provider;
  • Experience working in LGBTQ community;
  • Experience working in FQHC or as a health psychologist;
  • Experience working with persons with substance use problems.

License(s) and Certification(s)

  • Active and unrestricted California licensed clinical social worker (LCSW)
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross accredited BLS certification.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a clinical/office set and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion, and talking. Ability to lift up to 24 pounds. The job requires contact with the specialized population served. Job may expose employee occasionally or in emergency situations to blood, body fluids, non-intact skin or tissue specimens. Access to patient clinical protected health information.
